Richmond, October 19, 2017. At a ceremony held today, Virginia Law Foundation President Lucia Anna “Pia” Trigiani presented checks to a number of the Foundation’s 2017 grant recipients.
The full list of recipients is as follows:
• Access to Legal Services (Virginia State Bar) – $11,000
• CancerLINC – $10,000
• Capital Defense Workshop (Virginia Bar Association) – $26,500
• Domestic Violence Civil Legal Services Program (Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley) – $25,000
• Domestic Violence Conference (Southwest Virginia Legal Society) – $8,000
• Hill-Tucker Pre-Law Institute (Virginia State Bar Diversity Conference) – $15,000
• Immigration Legal Services Program (Commonwealth Catholic Charities) – $20,000
• Jazz 4 Justice – $3,000
• Justice in the Classroom Program (John Marshall Foundation) – $49,000
• Lawyers Helping Lawyers – $25,000
• Public Service Internships (Virginia Law Schools)- $50,000
• Rule of Law Project (Virginia Bar Association) – $60,000
• Statewide Legal Aid Conference (Virginia Poverty Law Center) – $25,000
• The Bridge Ministry – $2,500
• Virginia Beach Justice Initiative – $20,000
• Virginia Justice Program (Capital Area Civil Rights Coalition) – $50,000
In addition, an additional $25,000 was awarded through Director Spot Grants to Community Tax Law Project, OAR/Jefferson Area Community Corrections Pretrial Services, Virginia Access to Justice Commission, Virginia Holocaust Museum, Virginia Law Related Education Institute, and Virginia Legal Aid Society.
